From 1990 through 2023 Wonder Dog Rescue rescued hundreds of Boston Terriers along with many small dogs of all ages and conditions in the Bay Area. In November, 2023 we moved adoption operations to Hudson New York, to be housed in at 329 Church Road. We've had wonderful success establishing a new rescue in Hudson which took in many California dogs thanks to the Marion & Richard Graham Foundation, the SouthWest Airlines Transport team, Sweet Briar Transport and Alaska Airlines. Having created a successful rescue location from scratch, I felt our work was done, and we feel an increasing pull to return to our primary work in California.
As of 12/8/24 we have re-established a foster network in the Bay Area, Northern CA and the Central Valley. These dogs will be adopted on the West Coast.

Wonder Dog’s current lifesaving mission is a synthesis of 34 years of rescue work, starting with a Boston Terrier rescue in San Francisco. As the organization grew, so also did our ability to help other dogs. Today, we rescue all types of small dogs, from 6 weeks to 16 years! All of our dogs live in a foster-home environment while awaiting adoption.
After 30 years in San Francisco we established a sanctuary in Sonoma county. There we had the joy of adding some companion farm animals who graced us with their antics and love!
The shelter crisis in CA necessitated bold moves however. In 2024 WDR moved to Hudson, NY, to establish a new rescue. Adoptions proved to be more successful than in California! We established kennel, adoption and foster protocols, and transported dogs to NY from CA. It has been extremely successful, and is now run independently. In December 2024, I chose to return to the work which means the most to me.... Boston terrier, small dog and special needs rescue. I'm so glad to be home.
